Review:

 

Manaka Junpei, is a pervert. He fantasizes of looking up girls skirts and is often wondering what type of panties the opposite sex is wearing. One day Junpei was approaching the roof the school when this beautiful brunette comes down from the sky and it is instant love at first sight. Ever since then all he was able to do was to think of the strawberry panties the girl was wearing and was shocked to think that such a girl even went to his school! Ever since then he has been trying his best to locate the girl and express his feelings to her. This series is just a barrel of laugh, as you watch Junpei and his crush on four different lovely ladies who all want to be with him. These girls each of a different personality, Aya Toujou, she is the lovely brunette who loves to write and finds it difficult to express her true feelings. Tsukasa Nishino, she is the lovely blond, who is very popular with the boys. Yui Minamoto, a childhood friend, she is the girl with purplish hair, she is very unaware of how boys and girls should behave with each other and many of the funny moments in Ichigo 100% is the interactions between herself and Junpei. Then there is the final girl, Satsuki Kitaouji. She is very spontaneous, she does not mind doing anything for the man she loves and is very outspoken. You will find everything that is normally in harem series in this title which are, awkward moments for the male protagonists. If you enjoy harem titles this series is for you pure and simple. It has great panty shot scenes as well as many Naru-ish punishes. The girls in the series are attractive you will not find a female character remotely ugly in this series (surprised?). Throughout the series you will see Junpei going through middle School to High School. Junpei in many respects is a “play-boy” he starts out with no girls liking him to being surrounded by these four lovely ladies. He often tries to be fair in his feelings to each of them which cause him many awkward moments.

 

Art/Characters/Music

Animation quality is considerably good. Of course it’s not par with DVD quality but there is nothing else that can be done it being a fansub. The character design is really good in my opinion, I am not an expert in this category but I found the characters looked fantastic. Music wise Ichigo 100% has one of my all-time favorite ending tracks which is IKE IKE. The first time you listen to it you will be amazed at how great it is, I know I was. I listened to it for about 3 hours on repeat!  

 

Final Note:

 

I first want to state that considering this series is a fansub it will cost you literally no money to go watch it so if you have some form of high speed internet I highly suggest you check this title out. I will be very surprised if this title is not licensed sometime early next year so I would suggest you take advantage of having an opportunity now to watch it fansubbed so you can decide upon purchasing the title when it is finally released to the US. I for one will defiantly look forward to the release of this series because I enjoyed watching it. Now I want to say something regarding the series and the OVA, I recommend you watch them together. Meaning watch the 12 episode series followed by the 4 OVA’s, I say this because the series has a cliffer ending, meaning it is rather incomplete. The OVA however, takes place immediately after episode 12 so what they should have done was just tacked on the episodes so it would be a 16 episode series. The OVA has some of the funniest moments in the series. There is four in total, two of them advance the plot of the series and the other two are just fun stand-alone episodes. If you truly don’t have the time or for some reason don’t want to invest the time in viewing this series (I don’t know why) you just at least check out OVA 3 & 4. You really do not need to watch the series or any other episodes to appreciate these episodes. All in all, this isn’t a masterpiece by any stretch; however it truly is enjoyable to watch. I found myself laughing countless times and when the series is all said and done you will have a grin on your facing wishing there was more and in the end that’s what counts.
