First I want to say I got into this series completely by accident. I had some money laying around and decided to take a gamble on the series and bought the entire thing. It turned out to be a fantastic series! This is my review on Jubei-Chan!
Jubei Chan Review
Yagyu Jubei, one of Japans greatest assassins who was able to beat anyone who dared to stand in his way eventually died. However, prior to his death he bestowed his powers in the “lovely eye patch” and gave it to his disciple to find the true successor to the Yagyu Jubei style. After 300 years pasted his disciple found the chosen one, Jiyu Nanohana. She has recently moved to this new country with her father to start “fresh” and on top of going to a new school and making friends she now must deal with hidden legendary powers?!? This story is very comical, the father is by far the funniest anime character I have seen in a long time and usually the parents don’t play a major role in the anime series but this series is an expectation. The storyline is fairly simply, the great Yagyu Jubei had an enemy clan who he destroyed however now they are seeking revenge for the past and on whom? The new Yagyu Jubei, Jiyu Nanohana. Throughout the show Jubei is always faced with a hard decision as to accept her fate with the "lovely eyepatch or to try and stay Jiryu Nanohana. You must watch the series to find out! The character design is just awesome I really enjoyed seeing all the comical faces, some can be seen in the pictures I have taken below. The Ruffians (The three guys in the 3rd picture) helped add to the comic relief of the show, if I got a dollar for every time I heard the word “We are the unrefined" i would be a millionaire. The music is just fantastic I love the OP and well as the closing song. The animation is great I saw now visible flaws. If you’re in the mood for some solid enjoyment and some great laughs pick Jubei Chan and I promise you won’t be disappointed. I just wish it was longer; however there is a second season so I will be reviewing that once I get my hands on it.
(Great Series, Love the music, Great comical faces 9/10)
