Nozomu Eien Review
The Eternity You Desire
Synopsis
Narumi Takayuki is the stereotypical high school student. He is good friends with the school’s beautiful swim star, Mitsuki Hayase. All is well in their lives when suddenly Mitsuki’s best friend, Haruka Suzumiya confesses that she loves Takayuki. This relationship starts out rough, but eventually a beautiful romance buds from it all. All until tragedy strikes and drowns their lives in sorrow and misery (No, I’m not freaking exaggerating (well I might be with the drowning part….*NO LITERAL DROWNING IN THIS SERIES at least last time I checked…*)).
Review
I’m going to keep this short because any details whatsoever could ruin the way the story grabs onto your emotions and crushes every and any sunshine, lollipop, and rainbow moods you might be in. And no I’m exaggerating about that either. You MIGHT cry at some point in the series. In reality the story is much more enjoyable if you don’t even read this because just knowing how the story twists itself around can ruin it.
Many guys will just pass this along because it’s basically a heavy drama with zero action, however since I’m a guy with varied tastes, I enjoyed it greatly. This 14 episode series is based on an older hentai game (explicit material, 18+ only you freaks) which was an underground hit among the many people that played the game. In fact this series itself does have sexual intercourse occurring once or twice. (And no you DON’T see anything squishy and/or yummy so don’t let that be an incentive for you to buy it. Please. Or I’ll have to remove you from the gene pool or something).
The animation in this series fits the mood quite well. The art of the characters are very nice to look at. Since this is just a drama, however, there will not be any real fanciness.
The music is where this series really wins. The background music itself didn’t stand out, but the vocal songs for the opening and for a certain part during the series are wonderful.
(Not 100% sure on the names, but)
Opening – Precious Memories
The other song I mentioned – Rumbling Hearts (I hear it’s the opening from the game)
As a final word, some people may feel that this series is rather dumb because of some of the choices that the characters make. If you feel this way, you can either stop watching or just think of how you would react in such a situation.
My rating – 9/10
-The beginning was a little too mushy.
