Synopsis:  60 years after the events in Char's Counter Attack a new spacenoid movement called the Zanscare Empire rises to power, it's ultimate goal is earth, to claim it for themselves.  The crumbling federation sits back and a rebel group called the League Militaire is the only force that stands between Zanscare and it's domination of the Earth and the colonies.  Into this Usso Eving an 11-year-old boy is thrust into the bloodiest and most nihilistic of all Tomino's Gundam series.

Review: Well this is the first example I had seen of why they call him Kill 'em All Tomino, the death toll is staggering.  The protagonist in this Usso is the least whiney of all the other child pilots in his series.  The series itself actually stands on it's own merit and you do not really need a primer to watch as the characters are not recurring.  The story starts out differently with what should be episode 4 or 5 being shown first.  The villains are great in Victory from the tragic Chronicle Asher to the manipulative winner of the Glemmy Toto award Tassilo Vargo they run the gamut of Tomino Arch Types.  Of particular interest is the Uber Bitch Katejina Ruth who appears to be the prototype for Dorothy Catalonia in Gundam Wing eyebrows and all.  This is by far the darkest and most grim of all Gundam series, it also has the highest body count and the most disturbing scene I have ever seen in any Tomino series.  This is one great series outside of some motorcycle silliness in the latter part it ranks up there with Zeta, MSG, and Turn A as one of the best of a great franchise ****1/2 out of 5 stars. 

Things I Learned from this Anime

1.  In the far future people still like to gather round the guillotine for a good old fashioned beheading.

2.  In militaristic theocratic totalitarian states bathing with a beautiful woman is a punishment

3.  As a general rule giant motorcycles are stupid but effective weapons

4.  When in doubt how to defeat an enemy send out bikini clad women with bazookas

5.  New model Haro's absolutely kick ass literally

6.  Picking flowers for girls in colonies piss them off so do not do it.

7.  The deepest darkest fear of all people who live in the colonies is dieing and smelling like rotten whales.
